Fursona Timeline (Self Reflection)

I really like looking back at my old art, so I thought it'd be fun to share how Matt changed over the years
I'll try to post as much info as I can since not a lot of people know about the development of my fursona (unless you watched my Youtube vid about it haha//)

TIMEFRAME: PRE-2015
2010-2012?
The year for this is really unknown.
I'm leaning more towards 2012 since I "watermarked" it with my username, and I made my DA in 2012
I probably posted this here too way back when
It was made on a base from that era, and I can't find the original
It was likely a Scene/Emo Dog base so idk
This was very likely to be "just a design" since I don't have any other art of it
2012
Ah yes,,, the classic (Or I guess you could call her Preclassic)
This art was made for me by FreIek (Back when we were still really close)
The original design of my fursona during this phase was actually stolen!
I stole it from a Facebook game called Monster Galaxy

(Fun fact, I never even caught a Woolf/Scenewolf because I have very bad luck haha)
I was very much a small child and didn't know character theft was bad.
Given how popular Monster Galaxy was way back when I'm surprised no one called me out for it

Not much information since she evolves after this
2012 - 2015
This was my fursona for a very long time, and some older followers may still remember her haha
During this "era" I started my long term RP with one of my closest friends (2012 - 2019 and still running!), initially became friends with PIGGYPEN and really opened up to the idea of being a furry
This was a really exciting time for me since I really became active on Deviantart during this time (and obviously still am lol)
Inu became really fleshed out, even if she was just a mary sue
I still have all of my old commissioned art of her saved because it just warms my heart and I didn't deserve such great art lmao
2015
The turning point of my life
2015 was the first year I really started to experiment with my identity
And since I was starting to realize that "maybe I wasn't wholly female", I didn't want to be attached to a female fursona
So I completely redesigned Inu to get Matt
I picked the name Matt because "That's what I wanted my name to be if I was a boy!" (And look where we are now haha)
The original design for Matt was made in Kamirah 's original Puppy Maker on Doll Divine
I can't find the original image of Matt made in this, but I found a stamp that has the picture for a little glimpse into the past haha

This was when I was still trying to figure out Matt's name (We went from Cheston to Chester)
Matt was still a wolf during this time since I was still borderline Otherkin and kinning with wolves
This was also during my "Gauges are so cool!!!!!!!!!!" phase (Funny enough, those never left either)
At this time I also started learning how to draw heavier characters and Matt very quickly started to become both overweight and very femmy/curvy (also because I didn't know how to draw male characters that looked masculine)
Bit's of my emo/scene phase still poke through with the styling of the hair

BOOBS!
I wanted Matt to have boobs and be extra chunky during this time for some reason!!
I finally realized that wolves didn't have 3 toes as well
Hairstyle finally started to change from "scene/emo" to mohawk
I also added claws and, strangely enough, changed his paw pad color from being the same as his hair to a dimmer version of it
Everything before 2015 is really fuzzy and hard to remember, so a lot of details may be missing here

Initially, Matt was a hybrid because I really started to kin with opossums hard
I decided to change Matt's species because I really wanted to be "not like all the other furries" and change from a wolf, especially after commissioning @/PIGGYPEN to draw Matt as a hyena
But at this point, only the ears, tail and legs/feet changed, since I wanted him to obviously be a hybrid
